Happy social media day!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

My boyfriend, Darren, and I looked at a flat last night (it was nice, but not quite what we’re looking for) it turned out the estate agent was a client of Cre8ive Wisdom, and the lady showing us around knew Neil. She also told us about another flat they have available so we shall arrange to view that as well. We’re looking at another flat this evening with a different estate agent so it’s all go at the moment!

When I finally got home last night I watched a clip from Monday’s This Morning because I’d heard there was a sleep expert on there. I made some notes while I watched as research for writing my sleep story! It did make me miss This Morning a bit more so I’m glad they now do weekend shows with clips from throughout the week!!

Carrying on from yesterday, today has consisted of more ‘tweeting’, ‘Facebooking’ and ‘forum-posting’.  We’re still growing quite well which is good, but Steph and I agreed earlier that we’re both being quite impatient and expecting/hoping for our accounts to gain masses of followers at once! I have been getting quite excited when I see there’s an extra follower or another retweet and I’m checking all the time!

According to Mashable, it’s ‘Social Media Day’ today, so it seems we’ve been celebrating it in the right way!

Social Media Day

Get tweeting!

Tweeting away

After a relaxed night last night catching up on some Doctor Who and eating ice cream, I’m feeling slightly better today! I think it helps that it isn’t so hot today. Not that I don’t enjoy the sun but I’m glad to see some clouds and have some nice breeze today!

Today has been filled with social media. I’ve been trying to grab Twitter followers again, the account is ever-growing and we’ve been getting retweets and mentions which is good! So as well as our tweets being seen by those following, they’re going out to larger audiences – the retweeters’ followers!

I’ve also been looking at and joining suitable forums, starting a thread about the client and generating discussion. This is a way of using social media for marketing I hadn’t really thought of much before so it will be interesting for to see how well it works. Neil has already said the forum I posted to was the highest referrer to the website today.

Steph has been doing lots on Facebook for the campaign – sorting a fan page and group for people to join, as well posting information and links to other relevant groups. I’ve invited my friends to the fan page and group and it’s good to see them growing already!

I’ve started researching some ideas for this week’s sleep article and plan to start writing it tomorrow.

My boyfriend and I are off to view a flat in Winton this evening. It’s getting close to the end of our tenancy at the shared student house so we need to find somewhere to move into soon!

’til tomorrow, Hayley (:

Let’s not mention the football…

I’m back for another working week after a fairly eventful weekend! My boyfriend and I headed to our ‘hometown’ Bognor for the weekend full of sun, catching up and *ahem* football… On Saturday I visited a friend and her huge family, including her month-old baby boy, for a spot of barbecue food and chats. I managed to get lots of cuddles from the gorgeous baby before I had to leave to get ready for a wedding reception. The evening was fun, filled with cheesy music and dancing, as well as more catching up! After watching the disappointment that was the football on Sunday with Mum, we headed back to Bournemouth and joined my Dad for some more barbecue food!

Today we’ve started a big social media campaign for an exciting new client. After brainstorming this morning we have loads of ideas and lots to do! My main focus at the moment is the Twitter account and engaging with people through tweets! I’ve been tactically following in order to get followers who are likely to be interested in the updates. I should be able to use this campaign as a case study for the social media dissertation I’ll be completing next year, so that’s a plus!

I’ve been on the Strepsils today with a sore throat, so it’s soup for dinner followed by a hot bath and an early night ready for tomorrow!

Sleep tight, Hayley
