THE CLAWWWW!

Friday, July 30th, 2010

IT’S MOVING DAY!

Darren has been moving all our things into the new flat today, with the help of his friend and my dad during the day! Really looking forward to living in it!

Today,S teph and I have been tweeting a lot about the Serenata Camper Van which will be touring the south coast for festival promotion. They will be having some of the headline acts on there and also a competition for the first people who spot the van! Tis pretty exciting : ) I’ve also been doing lots of the usual following and unfollowing, cultivating new followers as well as the joining in with the Twitter ritual Follow Friday!

I’ve also written up a piece which lists what events and musicians are on each day of the festival. I put it together and added small bios to each artist, then sent to Neil to put on the website. I wasn’t sure whether this would go on the blog or another section.

This afternoon I’ve started writing up a piece for our recruitment client’s blog. The press release I’m getting the information for has lots of long and confusing words I haven’t seen before so I’ve had to use an online dictionary and Wikipedia to understand it!

At lunchtime, Steph and I went for a little wonder and stumbled across a bird’s claw! It was quite gross… So we took a picture, of course!! THE CLAWWWW!!

Tonight and this weekend is going to be very busy, with sorting the new flat, cleaning the student house ready to hand keys back tomorrow and then off to Bognor for a wedding tomorrow evening!!

Happy weekend!

Attack of the flying things!!

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

This morning I posted links to our various Facebook groups to the sleep story I wrote yesterday (Teenage laziness – Blame it on the sunshine!) , as I had only tweeted it yesterday evening.

I sent over to Neil the research bits I put together about tyre replacement companies, and also the bio piece I’d written about girl string band Netnakisum at Serenata.

I’ve written a piece for the Serenata blog about The Art Stable, which is a Dorset art gallery who are hosting an exhibition at the festival next month. I had to email a few people to get some pictures to go up with the text, and then I had a nightmare trying to get them to go where I wanted on the blog! Text and pictures were flying all over the place! You can have a look at the finished piece here: http://serenatafestival.com/blog/?p=146

Speaking of flying things… On our lunch break, Steph and I went for a quiet stroll to a bench on East Cliff, when we were unexpectedly attacked by a swarm of flying, stinging things!!! There were bees and wasps EVERYWHERE!

… … …

Okay, there were a couple that flew near us a little, but the way we screamed you would have thought there were millions! We must have looked like a pair of loonies flapping around and screaming!

As the website currently doesn’t have an easy guide for what’s happening on what day of the festival, I’ve started to put this together. I’ve had to do a bit of hunting to find out which days certain events are, and when musicians are due to be playing, but once I’ve got this up on the website it means no one else has to do the hunting!

Throughout the day I’ve been doing the usual tweeting, following, unfollowing as well to keep our Twitter accounts growing! The number of @clickwriters followers has almost doubled in a week! : )

The boyfriend and are picking up the keys to our new flat, and doing all the paperwork bits, tonight ready to move in all our stuff tomorrow! Including our new bed and sofa which is being delivered : D I’m looking forward to getting all the little ‘homely’ bits in the flat! I get excited about the little things, even when we bought a bathroom bin and an iron last night (and I NEVER iron!!)!

Tomorrow is the last day of my official 6-week placement at Cre8ive Wisdom! I’m definitely glad I’m staying longer : )

Missing being a lazy teen!

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Well, I had an eventful evening last night, doing loads of washing at my dad’s due to a very inconveniently-timed broken washing machine! I took round a LoveFilm DVD ‘Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging’ which was fairly enjoyable! Darren didn’t want to watch it so I thought I would while he was driving back from Alton Towers! I’d read the related ‘Confessions of Georgia Nicolson’ books by Louise Rennison when I was younger, but I can’t say I recognised much from the book during the film (but then my ‘old’ age is making me forget things nowadays!!).

This morning I’ve written and posted another blog post on the Serenata website, about some guided walks courtesy of Jurassic Jaunts which are taking place. You can read it here: http://serenatafestival.com/blog/?p=140

I also spent some time this morning promoting LinkedIn groups I started for recruitment client, and adding relevant links to them. I’ve been tweeting/Facebooking about this, various bits for Serenata, and bits for our adjustable bed client.

This afternoon I’ve written and posted a Better Sleep article for the adjustable bed client. It’s about teenagers’ sleeping patterns and things that affect them. It’s after I saw an article yesterday about new research connecting biological findings to teenagers’ staying up and getting up late. You can read my piece here: http://lpadjustables.eu/better-sleep/?p=185

I remember a few years ago I could sleep until 2 in the afternoon sometimes! Well, when having to get up for school didn’t get in the way! Now I can never seem to lie-in past 10!

It’s been a slightly nicer environment in the office today as the star Steph brought in a fan! It’s made a big difference in the room and we’re not so sticky now! : D

I’m off home now to clean, clean, clean… Fun!?
